Zakat Calculator

Calculate your Zakat obligation accurately. Free online Zakat calculator for Muslims to determine Zakat on wealth, gold, silver, and investments.

What is Zakat Calculator?

Zakat is one of the Five Pillars of Islam and a mandatory charitable contribution for Muslims who meet the wealth threshold (nisab). It purifies your wealth and helps those in need. The standard Zakat rate is 2.5% of your total qualifying wealth held for one lunar year.

This calculator helps you determine whether you owe Zakat and how much to pay. It considers all your assets including cash, gold, silver, and investments, then subtracts any outstanding debts to calculate your net wealth.

Formula

Zakat = (Total Assets - Outstanding Debts) × 2.5%

Nisab (silver standard): 595 grams of silver equivalent
Nisab (gold standard): 85 grams of gold equivalent

Zakat is due when net wealth exceeds nisab for one lunar year.

How to Calculate

  1. Add up all your cash and bank balances.
  2. Include the current value of gold and silver you own.
  3. Add the value of investments and business assets.
  4. Subtract any outstanding debts.
  5. If the result exceeds the nisab threshold, pay 2.5% as Zakat.

Example

Ahmad has $10,000 in savings, $3,000 in gold, $1,000 in investments, and $2,000 in debts. Total assets = $14,000. Net wealth = $14,000 - $2,000 = $12,000. Since $12,000 exceeds the nisab (~$595), Zakat = $12,000 × 0.025 = $300.
