What is Running Pace Calculator?
A running pace calculator determines your pace (time per distance), speed (distance per time), or finish time based on any two known values. Pace (sec/km) = Time (sec) ÷ Distance (km). Speed (km/h) = Distance (km) ÷ Time (hours). Distance (km) = Time (sec) ÷ Pace (sec/km). Unit conversions: 1 mile = 1.60934 km, 1 km = 0.621371 mi. Example
For a marathon in 3:30:00 (12,600 seconds): pace = 12,600 ÷ 42.195 = 298.6 sec/km = 4:58.6/km. In min/mi: 4:58.6 × 1.60934 = 8:00.6/mi. Speed = 42.195 ÷ (12,600 ÷ 3,600) = 12.06 km/h = 7.49 mph = 3.35 m/s. At −10% faster pace (4:28.7/km), finish time ≈ 3:09:00. At +10% slower pace (5:28.5/km), finish time ≈ 3:51:00.
